The language of love was not always through verbal communication. Floriography, or commonly known as the language of flowers, started as early as Hamlet and into the Victorian Era. It was where flowers were given to communicate certain feelings, meanings, and emotions. This secret language of love has become more modernized, but can still be a great way to communicate with your partner, as long as they know what it means.
A great way to communicate the language of the flower would be to physically write a love note and include what the history of the flower is and why it is a specific meaning. Even though it becomes less “secret” when you have to explain it, the thoughtfulness and romance still exists!
A lot of Brides and Grooms are starting to choose flowers for their special day that have a certain meaning. You can even describe this meaning in a program – so when your guests look all around they notice, for instance, all of the Forget Me Not flowers – which means “True Love” in the language of love.
