Do Something Everyday That Scares You

The older I become, the more I realize that adults are just as worried and fearful as their six-year-old selves. Usually, we grow accustomed to a daily routine and we stay in our comfort zone for most of our adulthood. There is no better time than now to spice up your life and add some adventure. You may think it’s silly, but even the most simple activities can be intimidating. We made a list of seven things to do for the next week and encourage you to try them!!

cooking Amina Michele aminamichele.comDay 1: Make a recipe that you would never think to cook. Whether you avoid it because of the complicated instructions, unique ingredients, or time constraints, it’s time to spend some quality time in the kitchen. Preparing something that you can’t wait to eat will be worth all of the effort. Bon Appetit!

shaking hands Amina Michele aminamichele.comDay 2: You know that person at the office, gym, grocery store, laundromat, or in your building that you’ve always wanted to introduce yourself to? Now’s the time to go up and say hello! What are you afraid of? Make a new friend and gain the confidence you deserve!

karaoke Amina Michele aminamichele.comDay 3: Karaoke! Call up the girls and start singing! We understand if it’s a work/school night, but no excuses- grab a microphone and you’re good to go. Whether you’re belting lyrics in the car or dancing to your favorite song, let loose and carry a tune.

skinny dipping Amina Michele aminamichele.comDay 4: Release your fear and go skinny dipping! If you don’t have your own pool, this activity may get a little complicated, but we’re sure you can think of something else out of your day to day routine.

screaming Amina Michele aminamichele.comDay 5: Sometimes, you need to let out a loud and powerful scream. Whether you need to shake off some negative energy or want to shriek out of happiness, this is necessary for any bad mojo. Say goodbye to any stress or resentment and you’ll feel refreshed and better in no time!

speed dating Amina Michele aminamichele.comDay 6: We understand that speed dating isn’t for everyone, but it might be a great way to meet a new friend or just to get out of the house. If you’re taken, take a single friend and go for moral support. If it’s terrible, laugh about it later, but you’re guaranteed an entertaining night!

sitting alone Amina Michele aminamichele.comDay 7: After a crazy week, it’s time to relax and reflect. Go to a cafe, bookstore, restaurant, or movie by yourself and have some alone time to think about important things going on in your life. Use this time however you’d like, but it’s important not to skip this activity!

It’s time to start challenging yourself. We hope you take advantage of every opportunity and let us know if you have any great ideas that we can try out! Welcome to a more adventurous life- we wish you much spontaneity!
