Winter is such a beautiful time of year, some parts of the country are covered in snow, the leaves have fallen, and large snow flakes fall from a gray sky. Every once in awhile you will get an opportunity to watch the sun peak it’s head out. Winter is also a beautiful time for winter wedding wonderland. When I think of winter, I think of big pine trees, what a perfect way to find wedding inspiration with pine cones. Here is what I found to spark your winter wedding planning with a little pine cone lovin’…
PERSONAL WEDDING FLOWERS
I just love this bouquet, the pine cones are subtle, but still offer gorgeous texture with the whimsical winter flowers, perfect for any Bride.
This bouquet is a bit more bold with the pine cones, but what I love is the combo of pine cones and the burlap wrap.
If you really want to wow with pine cones, have you or your girls carry bouquets of only pine cones and no flowers; a real cost savings if you make your own.
Your Groom should also match his pine cone loving Bride.
Here is a more subtle pine cone option for the Groom’s boutonniere from theknot.com.
Don’t leave your flower girl out, send her down with an adorable kissing ball (pomander) embellished with pine cones. Even better, create a pine cone only kissing ball. How fun!
WEDDING CAKES
This is my favorite pine cone cake because I love the contrasting winter blues with the rustic woods of the pine cone.
This winter white wedding pine cone cake is equally as beautiful. It feels like snow with the pine cones sprinkled with a little sugar dust.
If you don’t want pine cones all over your cake, possibly just a cake topper can still fulfill your pine cone needs.
If you are more of a wedding cupcake kinda person, you can still embellish your cupcakes with pine cones. Just don’t take a bite without removing … ouch.
WEDDING DECOR
What an adorable way to reserve your ceremony seats for your VIP wedding guests – like Mom, Dad, Grandma, Uncle Bob
This pine cone wreath is perfect for an entry into your ceremony or your venue doors.
I heart the pine cone favor bags.
When you want to dress up your escort card table, use rows of pine cones to separate between the names.
These pine cone place cards would be adorable at your guest’s wedding reception dinner table!
Love the pine cone votives. Perfect for a fireplace mantel in your reception hall or wedding venue.
Every place setting should have some sort of embellishment, why not use a pine cone to keep it in theme.
You can also do pine cone napkin rings which are not only cute, but inexpensive.
If you are looking to be a bit more creative, the pine cone ornament is perfect, because not only does it act as your napkin embellishment, but it also acts as a guest favor.
Loving this wreath, very simple to make too, just a mirror, hot glue and gorgeous pine cones. These would look gorgeous as the base of a wedding centerpiece, as well as an assorted collection of pillar candles to create more ambiance.
One of my favorite centerpiece selections, the dark wood of the pine cone and the eggplant ribbon are so lush and great wedding colors.
